RESEARCH at Franklin Gastroenterology:

Our practice offers sponsor-initiated clinical trials for many different gastrointestinal treatments and diagnoses. Many of our clinical trials are the latest and most innovative medical treatments for diseases in which current therapies may not be entirely effective. We have participated in trials for the following diagnoses: ulcerative colitis, crohn’s disease, celiac disease, IBS with constipation & diarrhea, gastro esophageal reflux disease, bowel prep and pill cam endoscopy.

Currently we are offering clinical trials for patients suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome with constipation, Irritable Bowel Syndrome with diarrhea and Ulcerative Colitis. Check out the following listings to see if you qualify.

 

Moderate to Severe Ulcerative Colitis Registry Study

If you have been diagnosed with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis (UC) and you are being treated with Humira (adalimumab) or are being treated with an IMM (immunomodulator), this includes drugs such as, 6-MP and azathioprine; you may be interested in this clinical trial. All patients must be over the age of 18 and have a confirmed UC diagnosis.

To qualify for the Humira Treatment Group you must:

  1. Be currently taking Humira (adalimumab) for at least 8 weeks prior to entering the registry
  2. Or if you have already participated in a study for UC with the sponsor of this study and you have received continuous Humira therapy since the initiation of your therapy

To qualify for the IMM Group you must:

  1. Have been currently receiving IMM drugs for at least 12 consecutive weeks prior to entering the registry
  2. Or if you have been prematurely discontinued from the IMM treatment group you may be eligible for the Humira treatment group
